About Routes & Roots Village

A Sisterhood for Women Who Wander

Routes & Roots Village was created for the women who feel most at home in motion — women who travel, drift, migrate with the seasons, live on wheels, or simply move through life in a way that doesn’t fit the traditional mold.

Some wander by choice.

Some by circumstance.

All of us deserve connection.

This is a Village for the women who crave real friendship, shared understanding, and a sense of belonging that follows them wherever they go — not tied to a single place, but rooted in the people who get it.

We are a sisterhood built on warmth, honesty, and the belief that women deserve spaces where they can show up fully themselves — without judgment, comparison, or needing to explain why they live the way they do.

Why This Village Exists

If you’ve lived on the road, traveled solo, moved through chapters, or reinvented yourself more than once, you know how beautiful and lonely it can be at the same time.

You also know this truth: People who don’t live this way often don’t understand it. But other women who wander do.

The Village was created to offer a home for women who carry their homes inside them — a place to come back to at the end of the day, the trip, the chapter, or the season.

A place where conversations feel real and support is genuine. A place where friendships grow no matter the miles between us.

What You’ll Find Here

A Note from Our Founder

This Village was born from a simple truth:  I keep hearing that people living as nomads get lonely. As an introvert, I don't often find myself feeling lonely.  But I am lucky that my best friend of over 20 years is also a nomad, having her support, understanding and constant contact is the most valuable thing I have.  I belong to some online groups of women that are also wonderfully supportive, but in social media, you mostly talk AT people and not WITH them.  I felt we need more of a community to talk and share that feels more like real friends and real conversations. A community where we truly understand each other and can build lasting, consistent connection in our chaotic, inconsistent lives.

So I created this for all of us:

  • Women living on the road or sea or random homes.
  • Women traveling alone or with a partner.
  • Women living in vehicles of any sort - buses, vans, boats
  • Women moving through life changes.
  • Women exploring new versions of themselves.
  • Even women who weren’t technically “nomads,” but still wandering in some deeper way.

I knew if I could create a space where these women could gather — genuinely — something powerful could happen.

And so Routes & Roots Village was born. And now it’s here for you.

Wherever you wander, you have a place to land.

Welcome home, sister.

We’re glad you’re here.
